Dispersal of church furnishings
and office equipment
Active members may submit bids for church items until January 15,
2010. Bids are to be mailed to the church office: PO Box 12409,
Kansas City, KS 66112-0409. “Active members” is defined as those
persons who attended worship and/or contributed during the period of
June 1-December 31, 2009.
Former members, friends, and other congregations may submit bids for
any items that are not purchased by active members. The deadline for
those bids is February 10, 2010.
The Presbytery historian and the Wyandotte County Museum have been
contacted to see if they would like items for their collections. If
any items are requested for their collections, those items will be
donated to those entities.
We have been contacted by local Presbyterian congregations (such as
the new Arabic Presbyterian Fellowship and neighboring Wyandotte
County churches) about the possibility of donating some items to
their ministries. The inventory will be published in the
Presbytery’s “Heartland Connection” (email newsletter) mid-January
so that other Presbyterian churches may submit requests. Those
requests will be considered at the February Session.
There are some items from the old building that are still listed on
the church supply store website. The Session will make a final
disposition of those items at the February Session.
All items must be picked up by February 28 – no exceptions. No items
will be delivered.
Any and all items remaining in storage or the Prince of Peace office
space on March 1, 2010 will be donated to a local charity (Salvation
Army, City Union Mission, etc.).
All monies from the sale of church and office items will go to a
fund to send teens and young adults to Triennium as a Legacy gift
from First Presbyterian Church of Kansas City, Kansas.
